For a considerable duration, the education system in India has neglected the requirements of children with disabilities. Whether it pertains to inadequate infrastructural support or the establishment of an inclusive classroom atmosphere, schools have often found themselves unprepared to cater to the needs of differently-abled children. Nevertheless, numerous government policies in India have endeavored to tackle this problem and improve the situation for individuals with disabilities over time.

There are over 500 million individuals worldwide who experience disabilities due to mental, physical, or sensory impairments. Their lives are hindered by societal barriers, both physical and social, which limit their full participation. Consequently, countless children and adults across the globe are often subjected to a segregated and devalued existence. However, it is crucial to acknowledge that they have the same rights as any other human being and should be granted equal opportunities. Let us actively strive to promote effective measures aimed at preventing disabilities and facilitating rehabilitation. This entails ensuring that they have the same opportunities as the entire population and an equitable share in the advancements in living conditions brought about by social and economic development.

The responsibility for promoting the inclusion of disabled individuals in all aspects of social, economic, and political life lies with every segment of society, including individuals, organizations, and governments. However, it is essential for governments to assume a leading role in raising awareness among the population about the benefits that can be attained by incorporating disabled individuals into various spheres of life.
